all the new simplex chains that come with gears dont have the tensioner rings or the ring lands to use tensioner rings.
look like the 70s onwards ones
been given drivel that these have revised teeth profile and dont need tensioner rings,and wont rattle..
hmmmm
dont anybody have the proper gears anymore?

The rubber rings dont last on the early ones and the later plane gear type are ment to run with the sprung tensioner and the larger timing cover ect.
provided nothings worn out it shouldnt rattle.
just go to a duplex if you have any worrys.
also keith calver does good qulity simplex and duplex chains.i think there the same chains that you get on the swiftune duplex sets. im pretty sure there made by Iwis.
