Clubman speedos and Tachs

Post by 360gts »

Have a box here with a number of Clubman and GT instruments.
Looking at the speedos they have different numerical combinations.

3328/12 1000....would this be a 3.44FD with 12 inch wheels?

3328 /12 1280....think this is a 3.44 FD with 10inch wheels.

3328/12 1248..... Think this is a 3.65Fd with 10inch wheels.

Sure there are some members who can confirm or correct these numbers for me.
Cheers

3328/12 speedos are from the Morris Marina 1.8TC and Super Delux models. Sold as an Austin Marina in the US.

Here is a list of the ones used on the Clubman and GT

Hi Stuart,
That is very strange as I am pretty certain I removed these from Clubmans in a wrecking yard in Coventry way back in the early 80's...Perhaps someone swapped them from a Marina as a replacement!
Some of them are the three clock panel and others two. The 3 clock panel has the 6500 RPM tach.
Just found another two
3328/00AS 1280....
3328/18 1248

Dermott, I did a web search for SNT3328/12 and all leads pointed to the Marina.

Thanks Stuart, I am an amateur when it comes to Clubmans....they never brought them over here ...not many around...I am learning as I go.
What about these two?
3328/00AS 1280....
3328/18 1248
I also noticed a difference in some of these instruments...some have black face and some are silver....assume the silver are Marina..and the black are Clubman...am I right?

Next are the tachs.
Are these all the same....can the Marina tachs be used on Clubmans?

From the Somerfords list I posted

SNT3328/00AS; Clubman manual, 1973-75.

SNT3328/18S; 1275 GT, 1974-75.
SNT3328/18SA; 1275 GT, 1975-80.

There is no SNT3328/18.

Regarding the face colour the Somerfords list is incorrect as early Clubmans and GTs had the grey faces.

Not all Tachos are the same. The earliest GTs had a different red line to the later ones (I think 6,500 and the 6,000).

Also here are some comparisons of a GT clock set and a couple of Marina clock sets.

GT Clocks

The biggest give away that a set is from a Marina is the extra warning light in the fuel/temp gauge cluster, which replaces the seperate direction indicator lights that the Marina does not have.
Both of those Marina sets are currently on Ebay advertised as GT clocks, which they are not.

Hi Stuart, I dropped the SA off this one...should be 3328/18SA....1248 Pic attached

That clears up the point on the color of the face...thanks.
