Re: Cooper S servo
The Servo is a querie that quite regularly shows up on the Forum, especially rebuilding and trouble-shooting. I wonder if there's anyone on the Forum, with a bent for delving deep and collating 'stuff' together could put all the Cooper S servo 'stuff' into one simple to access file - or whatever you computer fields call such a thing!
That way, in the future, you coud tap in Cooper S Servo and up would pop the whole lot, trimmed down to eliminate the crap and just leave the nitty-gritty.
Just a thought.......

Re: Cooper S servo
Yep, got that Bob..... in fact I think that brochure was submitted my me many moons ago........
But, alas, it simply covers the descriptive theory. Nothing about the nitty-gritty and interchangeability etc etc like the questions that have been and are still being asked. This thread is a good example.
Anyone game.......

Re: Cooper S servo
I would agree with all that has been said above.
However one item the servo manual doesn't mention, unless I have missed it, is the arrangement of the adaptors on the ends of the rubber vacuum pipe connection from the inlet manifold to the servo and the type of adaptor fittings to use to link the two up.
Should the one way valve adaptor sit on the inlet manifold or on the servo, if it sits on the inlet manifold should the adaptor on the servo be a straight through type or should it be the opposite way, one way valve on servo & straight through adaptor on inlet manifold or does it not matter which way the adaptors are fitted?

Re: Cooper S servo
Originally the Mk1 S one way valve was on the servo end and the straight through was on the manifold. Except for Innocenti which was the other way around.
Later, well after mk1 production was done, an in-line one way valve was used in the hose itself, with straight through at both ends.
Some modern replacement non-return valves sold for Mk1 are the reverse of the original - i.e. intended to be fitted on the manifold end.
