Early factory distributor watershield ??

Just removed this from the remains of an early van front panel ..

Is this an early factory metal distributor watershield ? Looks far too well made to be an aftermarket panel !!

Holds to the front panel with the two small clamps and into nylon speed fasteners in the two square holes.

My 1961 car had one of those fitted when I bought it. I still have it somewhere.

I own the Van above now, I thought it was a home made thing that was fitted.

Yes that's a BMC factory part. i have seen a drawing, possibly on Ausmini Forum if not here. I reckon if Ausmini Winabbey was probably the curator. The drawing had dimensions on it which I used to make a roughly similar part out of clear polycarbonate for my Mk1.
