1275GT A pillar colour

Post by Dearg1275 »

I have heard that early 1275GTs had their A pillars painted in Matt black. The car I am restoring has black paint on the A pillars and upper dash rail. However some kind soul in the past has over painted the visible interior Blaze (orange) with black. I have no way of knowing whether the A pillar black is original.

This is a Feb 73 registered round tunnel car. Any help to point me in the right direct would be appreciated.

My 1969 1275gt and my 1971 clubman estate both had black vinyl covered A pillars as per Cooper.
They both also had vinyl covered rear companion bins.

Thanks. That is also what I had heard but also that it was phased out in favour of paint then dropped entirely. It just a matter of when.
