Hi everyone:
Si my mini 1960 is having some elctric problems, once you switch on anything electric like the lights it seems to drain the battery, but what striked me as unusual is that the boot chord (I only have the right one) heats up, could it be a faulty earth terminal connection?

Re: Electrical mess
Sounds to me to be a direct short, try disconnecting you number plate light at the loom connection that can be the only way your boot cable gets hot. Or same thing if you’ve got a reversing light fitted. And check the rating of the fuses in your fuse box.

Re: Electrical mess
Put a headlight bulb in the battery feed.
With everything else connected but switched off, it should not light up.
If it does, start disconnecting things 'til it goes out, that'll be the bad circuit.
