Anyone know if you can make a side light fit into an original PL700 headlamp?
Otherwise what do you do with the sidelight if fitting PL700s?
Do you actually need a sidelight by law?

Re: PL700 headlamps side lights
"Repro " PL700,s that i had came fitted with the the side light so not an issue .. would think that if any car was OE fitted with a Headlight & Sidelight included this is the Manufacturer complying with Construction & Use Regulations.. so front sidelights would still be required today.
Why not fit into the updated type of front flasher that also includes a sidelight ..or perhaps sell me your PL700,s without the sidelight feature as i can use them for the Moke.

Thanks but I wonder if the Radfords had a side light mounted elsewhere. Need to look into this some more.

Re: PL700 headlamps side lights
Australian cars used a Lucas 1B9100 / L594 unit with the indicator and the parking light (side light) and a clear lens. I believe there was a rule here that the headlights and parking lights had to be separate
It does then bring in the dilemma of having a clear indicator flashing white over a white parking light.
I few of us are now running some “switchback” led bulbs that have both amber and white LED’s in the same bulb and they light up white for parking lights and amber for indicators
