mk1 rear subframe replacement
hi i have just been under the car tonight and have discovered the years sitting in a garage have not been kind to the subframe
it needs replacing, is it a case of just buying it off an auction site there seem to be plenty available ? or is it a specific size or design?.......also one wheel drum on rear missing is this the same principle as the subframe? 1962 cooper i will upload some pictures tomorrow regards mark

Re: mk1 rear subframe replacement
All of the dry subframes (ie non-hydro suspension) are interchangable although there are small differences between them like exhaust mountings, fuel pump mountings etc.
A '62 Cooper should be dry.
I personally wouldn't put a secondhand one.
Also, be aware quality of replacement frames is variable, even the heritage ones aren't that straight and some of the pattern ones are awful.
