Hi there,
Screwing together a 3 synchro box with a complete 22A1041/22G439 B-Type 1st gear and BMC NOS Fork i found the ring rubs the fork witb up to 0.010” runout giving it a soft momentary bind up and release when turning over by hand.
Typically this is not something thats ever occurred to me before when partnering very close clearances on gear select parts. Using a good used fork and i would be confident that this foible would not even show up.
Its been suggested that the gear ring might have survived as NOS because of a heat treatment issue which i can believe
Either way, looking for anyone building cog boxes that haz has experienced anomalies in this area.
Michael.

Re: 1st Gear Ring/Synchro Hub Runout
Recently has the same issue as it was tight in one spot when rotating by hand, but the measured clearance with a NOS fork was .0045, I uses a flat file to debur the syncro slider and was able to remove the tight spot.
