I must comment. In 1965, as a paper boy I remember reading the report of the 1965 RAC Rally before delivery. In 1999 I saw it at Silverstone as part of the Ex Works display.
Fast forward a few decades and as organiser or a Mini Cooper Register display at the NEC I met up with Phil Short who handed over the car on an enclosed trailer to me on his way to the "Rally GB" or whatever it was called then. He had also given me detailed "pace notes" on how to start the car! Luckily I did not need them as I was able to unload the trailer in the hall to put it on the stand. Another opportunity missed.
In my opinion it is a fantastic car with its own history now. Like the Monit trip!

As has been stated a number of times in the thread about this particular car. It like many other Works Minis was resurrected from nothing more than a log book in the early 1990's. The original car was written off in the late 1960's. While the current car still bears the original number, it has nothing else to do with the original car.

This later turn of events is undoubtedly part of the history of DJB 93B but it's later history is NOT up for further discussion here.

Thank you.

That's a great action shot of 93B working hard. Look at those wheel angles!

One day we might resolve whether the destroyed 66 Gulf DJB93B was the 65 RAC/66 Scottish DJB93B.
The tax disc being in a slightly different position from Scottish to Gulf has already been mentioned (no evidence of a cracked screen after the Scottish that needed replacing) but I now see the Scottish car had no tiny Union Jacks above the front wheel arches (standard for BMC Comps at one time) but the Gulf car did. Both might have had a plated over hole for the roof light but it suggests a car swop to a 66 built car with 66 spec 4 aux light wiring and no roof light rather than a 65 aux light/roof light car built under 65 regs when roof lights were allowed.
That takes us back to what became of the Scottish car (with what remained of its floor after two but not three roughest UK rallies).
