So I made a royal mess trying to glue the weather strip to the boot lid
First of all I tried to glue it not to the lid itself but to the actual boot in its canal. Then I used black silicon which didn’t actually glue the strip whatsoever
The end result was a canal full of black silicon all over
So could anyone help me with the proper way to clean the silicon out of the canal please without damaging the paint of course, I hope once it dried it would peel out easily but turn out not to be that easy
Thanx
By the way I finally glue the strip to the lid with the 3M Adhesive so that problem is solved

Re: Silicon mess
There is a silicon remover gel that I have used to remove the stuff from bathroom tiles that I wanted to reuse. Available from the usual places. But try it against the paint first

Re: Silicon mess
I have had good results with this : https://www.ct1.com/our-products/multisolve/ or use brake cleaner whilst it is still wet.
