SJW803S Cyril Bolton 1275GT

Post by billycooper »

I’m working on a couple of ideas for my 1275GT rally car, as the retro rallies are getting very popular out there I’m looking for a 1970s 1275 GT livery, the above being one of them.

Any body any pics of the car ? , it is still on the DVLA database but from along time ago, and if someone you know is half way through a resto on the car I really don’t want to use this livery ….. although I suppose there is loads of Cossack Escorts and Red and White Minis out there !

Thesr are the pics I’ve found on the net

I like the one you have, isn't it the ST Australia colour scheme or something?
Be careful there's something about road rally cars being a uniform colour iirc

That's correct for historic type events such as the Rally of the Teats and Le Jog and other Motorsport UK sanctioned open road rally events. No advertising, graphics or large company logos are allowed.

This is what is mentioned in the Motorsport UK Year Book

https://www.motorsportuk.org/resource-centre/
Body
18.1. Bodywork must represent the manufacturer’s original
profile and may include any optional extras available directly
from the manufacturer.
18.1.1. Bumpers must be fitted.
18.1.2. Paintwork must be one colour or manufacturer’s
original colour scheme. No primer is to be visible.
18.1.3. Vehicles must not have wheel arch extensions, unless
fitted by the manufacturer as a standard item to the body
shape.
18.1.4. All major internal trim as fitted to the body type by its
original manufacturer when offering it for sale must be
retained. This trim will include headlinings, inside door panels,
carpets and rear seats.
18.6.1. Vehicles may not use racing style numbers, nor have
any advertising except for event sponsor decals which must be
incorporated within the rally plate.

Hi
Yep originally it had that colour scheme on it but as surf said it was removed for targa events on its last owner

I only want to use it for stage type events, I’ve done my share of night events and targa type events

Thanks for the comments so far
