MS Remote Box reverse switch?
Can someone confirm for me that the MiniSpares switch has the correct plunger diameter to fit inside the spring.
Only one pic, don’t want get it to Canada and end up disappointed.

TIA

I thought the reversing switch fitted to the front of the gearbox case was used on remote change.

Minispares script says it has the correct thread as there are others about from the MGB that look almost the same but have "different thread".. this Reverse Switch fits into gearbox case near the Oil Filter area.. they can be difficult to set up .. But there was a post a while ago from Aus; giving us that internal small steel Rod dimension that triggers that reverse switch.. sorry that i cant find that post.

I have the push pin & shim gasket to do this, just not sure that the switch plunger is correct on the MS version, as it needs to fit inside the reverse detent spring to work properly.Polarsilver wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 9:16 pm Minispares script says it has the correct thread as there are others about from the MGB that look almost the same but have "different thread".. this Reverse Switch fits into gearbox case near the Oil Filter area.. they can be difficult to set up .. I have an original switch, but it’s broken.

FYI, you can only install a short oil filter with the switch in place.

I can live with that. I tend to use two short Delco filters between oil changes.LarryLebel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 12:08 am FYI, you can only install a short oil filter with the switch in place.
It’s backing up in the dark I’m tired of
I wondering if the MS version is better, as it looks not to have the bulge between the terminals like the originals.

Re: MS Remote Box reverse switch?
The MS description of the switch you reference mentions the issue with similar looking switches having the plunger too wide to use on a Mini. Unless they are blatantly lying or uncaring what their product descriptions say I think you can be confident it will work with the Mini reverse detent spring.
I believe this is the post Polarsilver mentioned above.

Re: MS Remote Box reverse switch?
The Kiwis have found a work around using the more common switch that is available. Looks like they supply a larger ID spring & pin.
Not sure I like the terminal orientation though.

So I broke down and purchased the MiniSpares switch and can confirm it is perfect. Used the suggested gasket with it and now have my backup lamp.
