Imps changed a helluva lot over the 10 years I was with HSCC.
They changed the weight and capacity structure over the years and now an 1150 Imp will stay with most Minis in a straight line. That and Andy Jones move to use modern replacement rods and stuff rather than rely on 40 year old originals changed the scene for them , which was great. Anglias have now caught up too.
HSCC have now lessened the weights across the board for next year amongst the non-FIA cars , so that's a good move

Rules made up by certain people, nothing published, but a big issue if you beat them....welcome to the world of historic racing.

Oh, I might have to remove the glass windows and normal battery then.Tim Harber wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 2:04 pm

I guess one of the other problems with pre 66 now is age. When I bought my Mini, Austin 7s were 60 years old and Coopers 30 years old. Now Coopers are 60 years old and Mondeos are 30 years old.

Great to see a recent addition to the HSCC grid Tim Sims win overall at Silverstone on Sunday in his Class D Mini. (Wet race)
