My old GT, LHK497J appears to have made a comeback - with an MOT!

Non GT interior - the door cards and seats are wrong. And steering wheel centre looks odd - Marina or Maxi? Also a car of that age would have had a plastic, rather than a metal, air filter box…

In my opinion it would look a lot better with a black GT interior fitted anyway.....

I had a full geranium GT interior that was in good condition other than being badly faded and needing recolouring.
Struggled to sell it and pretty much gave it away at £100 in the end

Incredibly rare now! However my experience of Mk1s and Mk2s with red interiors was that they often faded for some reason.

The car would look much better with a GT interior. the problem is that only black (1969-70) is available at the moment from Newton (understandably as the interest in GTs is fairly recent and they are rarer than Mk1 Cooper Ss!). According to the paint and trim charts black was deleted from the end of 1970 and from 1971 onwards and replaced by Navy Blue and other colours (none of which are currently available).

I like the Scalextric 1275GT! Interesting positioning of the GT badges on the grilles of the two cars…

Those later cars have had a badge added at a later date. the front grille badge was deleted when the elongated blue shield centre was deleted and the highlighted grille bars moved to the centre two.

A couple more photos - the first 1275GT - SOX 199H - according to the Golding book (not on the DVLA computer). And a rather groovy continental photo!

That SOX Registration 1275GT would have been registered either in late March or very early April 1970 .. my reasoning is i had a mk3 S that was first owned by Longbridge Quality Dept; & first registered also as a SOX a few numbers further onward on 2nd April 1970... sorry i sold that car

Now that is interesting - so a Longbridge press car rather than the first 1275GT... !

According to my Glass's Guide, SOX ...H is Birmingham Nov 69 -Dec '69. So maybe your car was registered earlier or Longbridge had a block of registrations that they used between Nov '69 and the end of July '70?

This is my 1275GT getting airborne a little less gracefully than CNP...

This was prior to my ownership mind you.

Here she is after a strip and respray. Alloy door skins, new rear side panels, new boot lid, a-panels.... Still a long way to go though!
