Early seatbelts.......
The early seatbelt mountings (two holes angled on the tunnel), were they bolted under the carpet/underlay, directly to the metal, or, on top, bolted through the carpet????

Early Seat Belts were Dealer fitted so would be up to the workshop guy how they were installed .. if the Belts are two bolt fixed Lower Anchor type ..my experiences say lower anchor two hole plate would bolt direct to the Tunnel.

This is a 66 Cooper S, two bolts with the ring type mounting.....were they still optional/dealer installed as late as 66????
And, yeah, direct to the metal was what I was thinking.....

Different style of anchor to the ones we have......but, I guess we'll do it that way......

The type with the eyelet that screws on to a rectangular block that has a 1/4 unf bolt as well ? Then clip on seat belts ??

It's a Ring bolt that screws into a cylindrical threaded piece that has a bracket with two 5/16 bolts all silver soldered together.....
A similar ring bolt threads into the threaded hole at the bottom of the B pillar/doorpost......
