Just lining up my old sump guard so that if I wish I can bolt it back on one day.
The mani three front bolts are mounted on a plate that drops through, but anyone know if the same applies to the side mountings? As I recall we just welded some captive nuts into the subframe, and the part book pic suggests that as no nuts are visible?
So before I do it, any thoughts welcome?

I always weld on the captive nuts to the subframe has to be the easy way to fit any type of heavy sump-guard .. However i do not have the ST type sump-guard so i would use your own best advice.

The bolts supplied in the ST kit were big hex headed self tappers, as above if regulations permit just drill & weld on nuts.AndyPen wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 11:12 pm Just lining up my old sump guard so that if I wish I can bolt it back on one day.

Re: Old ST sumsp guard mounting
The rear mounts have not been available for many years, unless someone happens to have some out there??
I finally remembered that we used Triumph Herald engine mounts as a close alternative, the holes need slight enlargement but that's all. So if anyone else is ever doing this job, Rimmer Bros still sell them

That's interesting to know. I wonder if you can still get them if that's the case?
I think polar's idea is worth exploring for another time too. Back in the day I used to race a Dolomite Sprint, so that is where I probably picked up on the closely matching triumph mounts shown in my pic.
The dural guards we subsequently used were quite different, but I think these early ST ones look the part
