If you do get one I would buy from Distributor Doctor as much better quality with thicker brass terminals

Try these, but beware they only fit 45D dizzys : http://www.minispares.com/search/classic/gdc142.aspx £7.20

Sorry, just realised that you were after the same dizzy as on a MK II "S"...definitely The Distributor Doctor.

Buy a genuine Lucas one, plenty of old stock still about. Look for the ones on orange or red/white backing card or in orange boxes NOT green boxes as they are modern shite !

Were fitted to Mk1 Minis and many other contemporaries.

Here's one I have that I probably wont use ;)

I think they were fitted with a "rubber glove" originally weren't they(?) in an attempt to keep the water out of the electrics?

Yeah, most of the used ones with leads fitted have that rubber waterproofer on them.

Andrew, I don't disagree with you here however, sadly, I tested all the new brands currently available, though for the 45D4 series, and the best of a rotten bunch was actually these. Doesn't say a lot for the others !

The test I did here was just a High Voltage Resistance Test, which can give a loose idea on how long it may go for before the cap itself breaks down and also how they fare when dusty.
