1961 Morris Traveller Jack

Post by Fanfaniracing »

Hi all!

Someone knows how a Jack for a 1961 Morris traveller should look like?

In my memory it should not be a T-Bar or Triangular type...?
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

No, it was a round, gear drive looking thing, went under the subframes, rather than the sill jacking hole......

I think early travelers, like vans, used the Shelley LJ 225, with a little triangular bracket.

Just like this one on ebay a t m.

A snip at £275.

BMC jack part numbers per Somerford for the long wheelbase minis:

13H443 Rollalift bottle jack
13H444 Tommy bar 1/2" dia.

13H527 Shelley LJ225 bottle jack
13H518 Tommy bar 3/8" dia.

21A590 Triangular levelling bracket

All superseded in LWB production with the 21A1643 cantilever type screw jack by the mid 60's.

Note: Prices for LJ 225 can be high, because the same jack was used on E-type Jaguar.
