Has anyone replaced the front door kick plates recently with new which can be riveted through the original holes in the door, just bought a pair but they won't fit unless I drill two new bottom holes which I don't want to do.
Please can anyone suggest a parts supplier that can supply plates with the original fixing centres?

Re: Door kick plates
My replacement ones only matched up at 2 holes per side. I stuck a dummy rivet in the plate where it didn't match up and slightly rivetted it over at the rear to look perfect. Then used double back carpet tape where the dummy rivets were.
That was in 1995 or so. Can't tell the difference.

I kept the old ones, don’t want to wipe away all the history. Cleaned up but well worn.
I've got a 69 Mini with a 1046, Cooper Head and a four on the floor.

Re: Door kick plates
I had the same issue with new ones purchased, so resold. I was ok with some patina and bought a good used pair, the holes matched up perfectly.

Re: Door kick plates
Unfortunately, a previous owner thought the kick plates would make great speaker grilles, so my originals have a bunch of 1/2-inch holes drilled through them, as well as the door pockets.
I have repros and will make them fit.

Re: Door kick plates
Do the original kick plates have a chrome on aluminium finish or a polished aluminium finish as described for the new re-pro plates?

Re: Door kick plates
Early kick plates were different because the door already had holes drilled in them to take the plates. On later doors there were no holes, so you had to drill your own. In the changeover some bright-spark (a**ehole) decided to make them different....
