Door handles... thickness

Post by mini_surfari »

Evening all,

My eyes may be going funny and finding problems that aren’t there...

My passenger door handle on the van (non locking) looks, feels and is thicker/ chunkier than the drivers side locking)?

Is this just a factory quirk or at some point in its life have they become mismatch?

Cheers,

I don't know what age or model your Mini is but could you have an early Mk1 handle on one side and a late type (the type with the safety boss) on the other? The later ones look similar but are more bulky.

The vans 72, and both have have the safety boss.

I was just getting the passenger door handle in straight last night, to line up the boss and thought 'this looks chunkier'
