mysterious Mini 1000 parts found during oil change

Post by David Petepiece »

These parts came out in the oil of a right hand drive Mini 1000 my friend imported from Australia.

Any ideas on what they may be?

The item on the left is a wire worm, possibly "passed by" a kangaroo, the other item looks like an old FJ Holden bearing shell.

Item on the left is the spring out of a lip type oil seal. Could be one of many in an A series drive-shaft/timing case/primary gear. Item on the right is?????? trouble

I think the item on the left is a tuning device to get the correct whining sound that Aussie bar workers make when complaining about British weather.
The item on the right is for prising money out of a mini owners wallet.....(including mine)
Its a joke ok!

Tell me if I am wrong, since a pom, but doesn't the right one look like a part from a boomerang? How it ended up in the oil sump of a Mini, you'll have to ask Crocodile Dundee or one of his mates.

(removed by request, in case innocent under sixteens see it. Thought police)

But saying that, it looks a part of a bearing.

I'd say it's too part of an oil seal...
