Just thought I'd post this image showing the spot welds on the boot bracket, I assume the holes in the bracket were for when they were pop riveted on.
Did they ever delete the holes, once they stopped riveting them?.

That's a pretty astute observation Nick and Daz. But what were the two larger dia holes for? Looks like they were bored or punched before the boot board bracket was spot welded

The holes were still there in 68.
The same goes for the Boot board support brackets and the RH tank support bracket. The holes are there, but they're spot welded in place..
