A mate of mine has recently unearthed this 8 port head, believed to be a Pinion example. This is all he has. Can anyone please advise.....
1, Does a standard rocker assembly fit ?
2, What are the chances of finding inlet and exhaust manifolds ( without having to have new ones made ) ?
3, Is it worth bothering with ?
Any information at all will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Re: 8 Port head
Wow!
This is super interesting!
I would go for this head and if manifolds are not available, i think making them is worth it.

Re: 8 Port head
Interesting head, not skimmed for a small bore is it?
Probably worth checking for porosity or cracks before spending anything on it.
Nice thing though......
EDIT, presume you have seen this ? http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.u ... 8_port.htm

Re: 8 Port head
Hello Spoon.450
A standard "A" rocker cover will not fit your friend's 8 port cylinder head, you may be interested in seeing a picture of my unmachined valve cover. I suspect that the cylinder head was most likely cast at the same time as mine, I know that the valve covers had Gordon Allen's name cast in at that time, about 1971/1972. I understand that the inlet and exhaust manifolds are very close to that of the Weslake head. Yes the standard valve rocker assembly will fit.
Regards Paul
