Is this right? Seems a bit off to me.. (heritage door so it’s anyone’s guess..)

Also, what is the purpose of the wedge dooberry underneath the latch? These doors aren’t drilled for the plastic bit which is perhaps no surprise..

Even when it doesn't look nice, it seem okay to me.

The cutout is the moving area for the inner door handle. It lets the door handle stay more inwards for better access.

The hose goes straight down following the inner skin past the pocket reinforcer not around and down alongside the outer skin. ;)

Also the drain tube passes through the U shaped bracket which is used as the fastener for the 2 screws which holds the nylon door locator block not seen in your pic.
