I want to overhaul my 1 1/2 inch su but the screws etc; are seized in place.Any hints on loosening?.I"ve already twisted 1 off.

Dissimilar materials is the problem. Can I suggest a couple of tips that might help. If the screws are jammed, first, I'd try TIGHTENING it first. Don't over do it, just a tweak forwards first and then backwards, then forwards - and backwards and so on. Just very basic mechanics really. The second tip is to heat the blade of an old screwdriver up to just over cherry-red hot and leave it in the slot for 15 seconds or so, until the red colour has gone, THEN try to tighten and unscrew.
When you put the screws back make sure that you have cleaned out the threads with the correct tap and replace with stainless dobbed in coppaslip.
