Position/Dimension of John Aley 3-point rollcage mounting plates

Post by MiNiKiN »

Could anyone pls enlighten me, what the approx dimension of the mounting plates of a JA 3-point rollcage are and where they are attached to the body in the rear bins? One or two photos would be very helpful too, I suppose.

If you ask yourself why, because I want to reproduce one from solid drawn thick wall 32mm tube.

Brian Purves sells them for not that much. Is it worth it?
I've got a 69 Mini with a 1046, Cooper Head and a four on the floor.

I bought the clamp of him.
Is it worth it :?: :
  • I rather not imagine what the cost of sending this item from UK to Austria would be
  • I will improve the shape to better fit the Mk3 Innocenti bodyshell
  • I will also add a bracket that connects the rollbar to the seat belt mounting on the b-pillar
So in fact making it myself is the only option to meet my standards ;)

The fixing plates on the two side legs of my John Aley are 100mm x 50mm.
