Super quick question!

Post by Bitsilly »

Could someone tell me how long the straight magic wand gearstick is inside the car, i.e. from the bottom of the gear knob to where it meets the floor?

Or a bent wand from the bend below the gear knob to the floor, if that helps!

Cheers

A couple of photos of the straight gear stick from the 1959 Mini Register that might help.
Hopefully someone will come along with an exact dimensions soon.

Here you go. I asked a similar question because I thought mine was a bit low.

Actually that is very useful.
However I still need the length of the protrusion.

In the absence of the absolute dead right answer, couldn't you scale the length of the lever up from the photo, using a known datum shown, like the width of the switch panel or width of the heel pad or....... you get my drift! It's fairly accurate. Certainly as accurate as BMC bodywork and trim is!

I'm afraid it's looking like I will have to.

But if this is not the place to reach people who have mk1 Mini's I don't know where is!

Maybe make the topic title a bit more relevant so people with a magic wand don’t scroll past it so quickly?

Sorry I obviously didn’t read the question properly and thought you wanted the height above the carpet. I can measure the length of it later today
