Speedwell dashpot covers

Post by Phil Perfect »

Can't find a proper picture of Speedwell SU dashpot covers and any info in the catalogues.
I know that some appears on Ebay from time to time but what does they look like?
I have been proposed a pair and have no idea of an average price for them.

The original Speedwell ones were spun brass that was chrome plated, the modern ones sold as "Speedwell" are spun polished aluminium.

I assume you haven't got a copy of Andreas's fantastic Speedwell slide collection. I suggest you get one asap. They are by far the best reference to original speedwell stuff anywhere.

They look as right as right can be.

Not my cup of tea though :lol:

They also did a variation in the very late 60's / early 70's. You can see that here;
