Looks identical to my Arden 8 porter...it even has the same C_AHT 346 casting on it....Simon (251ENG) will most definitely be able to shed more light on it
Was this the first stab at the aluminum 8 port by BMC?

As far as i know, these were the Heads you could order as ST Part.

I once had a MOWOG Head, but my Machine Shop told me to leave my Fingers off as the Casting was poor.

Could not tell if this was only the one ore all were not well casted...

This one looks good and unmodified
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

Jim Whitehouse at Arden engineering developed the head in the mid 1960,s

BMC at the same time were working on their iron crossflow head with Weslake

After BMC / Leyland gave up with the iron head Special Tuning started to sell the Arden head but insisted that the Arden on top was replaced buy MOWOG.
For a short time they sold both heads

The current Arden head sold by minispares is a development of the original 1960,a Arden casting and is an excellent piece of kit

Really interesting, thanks for posting.

So could you consider the MS Arden head as an ST part? Presumably not Homologated ?
