S block / non S crank

Post by spoon.450 »

It’s been a long time since I’ve done this, but I have a nice non S crank ( and rods ) cross drilled, wedged, balanced, tuftrided, that I want to use in an S block. Can anyone please remind me of the necessary procedure regarding the different in thrust thickness between the two types of crank. Ie... what thrust bearings to use, and the necessary modifications required to obtain the correct clearance. Thanks in advance, Dave

You need to use a set of +030 ACL thrusts, and surface grind them down to 017 thou or so, depending on the width of your crank thrust surfaces.
