So a slide hammer should work fine as long as the hammer weight is made from a Land Rover!

Before the flap discs I used these:Gary Schulz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:50 pm
Sounds like I will be busy with the angle grinder and flap disks then!

Tyrolit PREMIUM*** ZA-P48 N natural fibre discs - they really work a treat and last.
Though I doubt they have dealers in the US. Only the Canadians appreciate Alpine Quality

Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s

They are great little grinders Gary, ideal for getting in small gaps and general light duty. They stop if they grab and don't try and wrench themselves out of your hand.Gary Schulz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:50 pmLooks like a very useful little grinder- somewhere between a Dremel and a normal full sized unit. Might need to find a US source for that tool.Andrew1967 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 8:45 am
I cant speak highly enough of this little angle grinder with a 1mm slitting disc for getting in awkward areas ...

They aren't intended for heavy work, that's what your 4 1/2" ones are for.
I've used one on HOY sand bought another one as back up for when it packs up. Dad is using one on his VDP 1300 and loves it.
