Mk1 wiper outer tube
could anyone please tell me the approx length of the first tube? (the one with the nut on it) thanks

yes it does .. the Somerford one is 190 end to end not taking the curve into account .. yours looks to be 170ish which is more in line with my expectations. I've ordered the Somerford one but I don't think it'll fit!

Is there a reason you can't cut it off and flare one end where you need it? On race cars we delete one wiper box, the hole in the scuttle and run one wiper in front of the driver only. Steve (CTR)

While I was restoring mine and my wifes, I just made up my own outers to suit! I had a long length of the tube, used a simple and cheapo flaring tool which I've still got and soft soldered a brass ferrule onto the nut-to-motor end. Still working as good as new
(Thinks..., the ferrule was a plumbers off the shelf bit from that small-bore heating pipe that used to be all the rage)

As has been pointed out you can make your own with a pipe flaring kit and 5/16" OD steel pipe.
