Door latch

Post by DUF2 ‘65 Elf »

I have searched but can’t see any reference to this.
The latch on my drivers door extends too much, so the door will not shut unless the handle is held down slightly.
Is there anyway the “throw” of the latch can be adjusted? Or is it easier to buy a new latch.

Assuming it's a MK1...some times they need a little grease on the striker for the latch to slip round the catch.

I had the same issue, seemed the simplest way to fix it was to cut off a quarter inch from the end and regrind the radius.

You have to get carfull when cutting off the latch as when the handle is pulled down it can get stuck inside the lock/ body ... ken
