Re: Just a nice period picture
The second car on the Oxford train is a Morris Super - can't imagine many of those were exported to Norway. There is an OEW/Black car on the quayside.dodge44 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 11:15 am The other view taken a few months later in July 1962 would appear to feature a train from Oxford (First wagon labelled : Carflat, return to Morris, Oxford) as the load includes Morris Minis, Minors, an MG Midget (May be a AH Sprite) with a Morris Oxford in mid air as it is craned onto Norwegian registered MV LAGNÖ (Built 1953, Scrapped 1982). Austin Minis line the quayside in the foreground.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who do not possess it.

They needed to be much more conspicuous if they were in the habit of double parking
Guess the AA had the upper hand here with their bright yellow livery.

I think that's smoke grey. Even playing around with the colours, the grass is bright green by the time it's Surf blue.

This Week’s Star Prize! – (Sale of the Century – Anglia Television 1971–1983)
‘And now from Norwich – it’s the quiz of the week!’ For 12 years the show at its peak would attract more than 21m viewers as contestants battled it out for prizes, contestants apparently mesmerised by the awesome sight of this week’s four-wheeled prize. The show’s ace voice man, John Benson would frequently enthuse over the luxury features of a Mini City or 1000 - namely ‘a heated rear window’ and ‘a rear fog lamp' or in later years an entry-level Austin Mini Metro. This 1983 clip dates from the last days of Sale of Century and on this fine Metro City someone has evidently switched on the hazard lights in a vain attempt to distract from its single door mirror and non-halogen headlamps....

Nicholas Parsons with hostesses (from left) Caro Greenwood, Sophie Batchelor, Laura Beaumont, Christine Owen and Eunice Derry
in the long-running ITV game show 'Sale Of The Century' (June 1978).
