Got another minispares and protech order in which should allow me to make some more progress.

Little update, Cobra seats arrived after 12 weeks lead time:



Order arrived from minispares which allowed me to put my polycarb sliding windows in and all the fittings:



Maniflow exhaust and silencer was mocked up under the car to check clearance for the rod change adaptor, i ended up ordering some different m8 rubber bobbins as the ones in the fitting kit were to small (or i had done something wrong)



Put some black grip tape on the floor panels to protect paint from wear:



Looking pretty nice now, still concidering getting the quarter lights chromed as its letting the car down so if anyone has any recomendations who will do just a pair of frames without the hinge section let me know.

Haha, no the switch panel is not historic, just tried to get it as close to the 'historic racers' style as possible. BUT with light up switches so it is easier to switch while driving along ... hopefully.

Not a have amount of progress gone on, but my protech shock arrived along with some other bits:



Got both seats in and fully bolted down, just waiting for the TRS 3 point harness now to arrive to finish them off:



And got the fuel tank bolted in, and squeezed my lp883 with 165 tyre in, which will probably have to make an offset ring made to bolt it down as it doesnt tuck under the tank.

Not much progress gone on this week due to being able go get a slot in our booth to get my 66 s sprayed. Went really well. Will post some more progress pics as i make progress.

Like you I have a A032 tyres, including the spare wheel but what I did not know until last year is that the tyres are "directional" and should always be fitted to rotate in the direction of the arrow on the sidewall. An eagle eyed MOT tester spotted that I had replaced the rear wheels on the wrong sides!

Will you be using that small filter in the timing cover breather ?
With decent tyres as the Yoko's and hard right bend cornering you will probably be spilling oil all over

Thanks LuisM, no i will be changing to a catch can system, agree with the about the oil spilling and i hate the look of the filters!

Been doing a few bits and bobs over the Christmas break, mostly the time consuming and tricky jobs!

Got the door check straps on, pretty difficult due to the cage tightness to the post but managed it in the end!



Due to it having a rod change box i drilled the holes to the adaptor in to allow you to bolt up to the mk1 tunnel, and got the rubber gaitor on



Ran the choke, accelerator and speedo cable through the bulkhead. Bolted the coil on so i can get my head round the wiring of the engine side in hopes of getting it fired up in the next few months:

I have hopefully now got the majority of the parts coming to finish the car off, currently waiting for around 19 orders to arrive

Over the past few days been messing with some bits:

Wired up the dash and got it fitted, along with my Sabelt wheel ( which im really happy with!):





Got some split collars and tig welded a rod on there to keep the harnesses in place:



When my minispares order came in, i had some alloy pedal covers in there, after bolting them on, wasn't overly happy with the look and fixings so tig welded mild steel generic pedal extension on:





Got the throttle pedal extension bolted on also, after some modifications (the tig really comes into its own on the final stages of the build)



Engine bay is in chaos at the moment, due to waiting on a few bits:



Got some spraying to do tomorrow, got the pedals to spray again, and alot of brand new parts from suppliers where the paint quality is shocking to redo!!!

Small update for today, no skin left in knuckles, fingers and hands bleeding. Can anyone guess what i have been doing?






Still got to change to a mini style thermostat housing instead of metro which is on its way. Not a job i want to do again in a rush thats for sure.

Sprayed the pedal covers last night and fitted a bit of grip tape to them:



Interior getting there now, wired up my used RPM gauge and offered it upto the 80mm pod and it doesnt fit so will have to have a look around my spares for something different Or could buy a smiths one when i get the car up and running:



Bit the bullet and drilled and fitted the mirror brackets and mirrors, not the most useful of things looking out of them but they do look good:





Started messing around getting the clutch bled will need a bit more but holding fluid:



Waiting on a chrome order to come in and one from Rallynuts with my fuel pumping system so hopefully that comes in next week.

Did you have to use an 's' style rocker cover when you changed from the alloy one or standard?

Thinking of changing but also might try giving it a blast and seeing what it looks like as bare ally.
