Been wondering for a while, if washer plunger is on LH side does it automatically mean shell was originally a LH drive shell ?
Or vice versa......
Have seen a few like this, on cars that you wouldn’t of thought they would of been originally LH drive

I doubt that it means the shell was originally LHD, and it isn't just mini's as my RHD 1967 Riley elf, annoyingly, has the washer on the left. To confuse things even more this 1965 Motor Trader magazine Service Data for the elf and Hornet shows the elf's washer on the RHS and the Hornet on the left!
There must be some logic to this somewhere considering the considerable effort to change production, handbooks and manuals...?
