Cutting your own carpet ..

Post by Andrew1967 »

Thinking about cutting the carpets for HOY over the Christmas break and impending furlough period ..

Looking at the carpet you can see 'lines' in it, although its plain powder blue. I haven't got a lot of carpet to play with so need to plan out how I'm going to cut each piece out so that when fitted up against each other I cant see these lines at 90 degrees to the adjacent piece, if that makes sense.

So, would the 'lines' be better running side to side or from front to rear ?

Here's a pic to show what I mean

Does it bend easier along the lines? If so it may make the decision for you. Lines front to back.

Having just seen an original rear carpet, I’d say you are correct Simon :)
