Flip cap removal

Post by Aginley »

Help wanted on how to remove this cap.
Wanting to do a nice restoration job on the planet rocker cover so need to remove the cap. I presumed it has a brass coller pressed in and the cap screwed onto the coller. I’ve tried to unscrew but it seams very tight
Don’t want to damage trying incase it’s not a screw in type.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Is it a screw in type though? Not the whole thing pressed in?

I’ve got what looks the same both inside and outside on the Vette and it screws on.

Turns out it was a screw in! Just needed some heat!

Few hours of faffery later I’m very pleased with the results

Yes and used a scalpel to do the intricate bits. Took ages :D
