Templates for cutting carpet/underlay
Does anyone have any templates or drawings for cutting out carpet and underlay sections ?
I can sort out the main floor carpets, it's mainly the arch pieces and the bulkhead that I could do with.

I use paper and 2" masking tape....mask round the area, fill in with paper, then you can peel the hole lot off and stick the template straight on to the underlay.

I did some for Col Mustard on here - drew around original arch ones and the bit under the parcel shelf too. Perhaps he could pass them on??

Not a bad idea Nick, if some paper templates are not available.
Might also see if I can get some old carpet sections on my next visit to a certain place to use as templates, if worst come to worst.

Re: Templates for cutting carpet/underlay
Hello Andrew,
I have just bought a new Australian made Carpet Set for my "S"and it is currently resting on the spare bed.
I would be happy to make patterns for you if there is no help from over your way.
If you are a member of the AusMini forum there is some information on carpets in the how to section I think.
Regards,
Glen

Re: Templates for cutting carpet/underlay
The carpet sets mentioned are made by All Car Carpets here in suburban Melbourne. They were given the BMC Australia engineering drawings for the carpet and underlay so what they produce is as close to factory original as you will get, warts and all.
They include good repro copies of the correct heal and toe mats.
Carpets and trim for Australian built Coopers and S's were made locally so no doubt used different material to the UK.

Re: Templates for cutting carpet/underlay
Andrew, I used original underlay as a template to cut mine. I'll see if I can get you dimensions sent over
