Throttle pedal stop.
Would’ve originally have a rubber sleeve on one end

I also have this part in my bit bucket and wondered what it was.

what is the purpose of the rubber sleeve?
Probably just to act as a cushion when the pedal hits the stop.

Just check you can still get full throttle after fitting one of these .

I think it would also stop the cable falling off the end of the pedal?

Yup it would too, probably more like it when I think about it as the stop already has a rubber bit on to act as a cushion. Is it an original thing, as the cable clips I've seen were a metal thing, maybe somebody has put it on if they'd lost the original clip?

This is what a New Old Stock one looks like. John Smidt (Mini King) acquired a supply when BMC / Leyland Australia closed down. He still has a few I think.

He shut down bout this time last year I thought - with a home sale?? Are you still in touch with him by any chance? My S lost this years ago.
