Radiator I.D ARA 1980

Post by Peter1071 »

I have an early radiator, part number is ARA 1980 and dated 13 65. I can't find any reference for this in parts books. Looks to be 16 gills per inch and came with the Cooper or S split shroud. I'd like to know if this is for a standard Mini or Cooper or Cooper S. My AKD3509 quotes ARA1573 but this manual is dated 7/64. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks Iain, just the information I was looking for. This suggests that the ARA1573 type first fitted to Coopers was the 13 gill type common to all Mk1s at the time. ARA 1980 would be the revised Cooper and S type still with the square top and outlet at the front but 16 gills used from November 1964 to May 1965. The third type would be ARA 2064 with 16 gills, the rounded top and outlet pipe further back fitted from May 1965.
