I found multiple used complete engines together from Healey/MG/midget/Bugeye?
Can they be used in a mini?
How do you ID block? Or can someone point me to a web reference.
Info I got off engines so far, Some have a 1275 tag riveted to back of engine:
1. 2A799 950 14a numbers forged in block no tag on engine
2. Leyland sticker on valve cover 12V67127L11776 engine tag is hard to read
3. MG sticker on valve cover 12CD-D-H16525 engine tag is hard to read
4. 12G1279 number forged in block - bare block. But there is a crank, rods, and pistons removed with engine. No tag on engine.
Spare Heads:
12G1316
2A629
12G295
Thanks

Re: Austin Healey/MG/midget/Bugeye Engines?
They can be used in a Mini with the crankshaft changed & a new set of main caps/line bored to suit. Front engine plate needs to be changed as well.
But they are worth more as an inline 1275, as these days they are quite sort after by Morris Minor/A30 & Bugeye owners. And the A40 weirdos
