headlamp buckets?

Post by Fab60 »

Hi guys , i was wondering if there were diff type of headlamp buckets through out the years? I want my head lamp to fit slightly a little more flush with my head lamp ring. You see my head lamps stick out maybe 5mm from the rings.....i have the metal type headlamp buckets that use a spring to keep them in place. My question is would the newer style plastic headlamp buckets let the headlamps sit deeper inside the buckets? ?? Thanks for in advance for the help!

Cheers

Have you got a photo of your bowls (no pun intended) as I suppose yours might be Innocenti (Carello headlights ) bowls. These have a spring to hold the headlight and ring.
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

I will try to get a pic late tonite but yeh min are metal with a spring. I was hoping the plastic version would do the trick but Terrence said his are thicker than the metal ones. One more thing I noticed , my headlamp I’m using are Lucas 700 repro versions. The tabs on the headlamp are a little bit taller than my old wipac lights. But still my wipacs protruded about 3-4mm from the headlamp rings. I just need to find a bowl that lets the headlamps sit deeper inside.....I might have to end up doing a trial and error
