Early MK1 seats
I have found an early pair of MK1 seats. They are the type that the seat frame remains tubular where they attach to the front of the crossmember. The two seats have a couple differences and I am wanting to know if this is common or perhaps one is earlier than the other. The first seat has a lever under the front allowing it to slide forward and back. The seat has two legs that rest on the carpet in the rear. The second seat is not adjustable and instead of having two legs in the rear it's bent like later MK! seats in that it sits on the tube where it bends. I was told they were pulled out of a 1960 Morris Mini. I always thought the early tubular type seats had the two legs in the back. Are these correct?

Re: Early MK1 seats
Hello,
according to your description your non adjustable seat might be indeed an early seat from a Basic 850 .
Early Basic seats had no adjustment and rear legs were hooped as the later mk1 seats.
In case you plan to sell them i would be very interested in the basic seat
would you mind sharing some pics ?
Cheers

Re: Early MK1 seats
Hi Luis. Here are a couple pictures of the bottoms that were sent to me. I am buying them for a mini of mine but have not picked them up yet. They have blue checkered covers over what appear to be white cloth with some sort of black circular spots/pattern. I guess perhaps they are a mixed pair?LuisM wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 7:27 pm Hello,

Hello Brian,
nice find... the non adjustable seat is indeed an early Basic seat , the other is also an early seat from driver's .
I believe they are a pair from a BAsic 850... the non adjustable one you can clearly see the factory fabric as this one ( pic from 59 mini register ).
Cheers
