Well exactly. Not much GT about it apart from the side stripes (which to my eye look to have been fitted a bit too high?)...

I'm not for 1 second suggesting that they are worth that, but they are one of those bits that people seem to go F@&%ing silly over.

Never did understand why.

Will it work? - more than likely
Will it have the correct marking and pass anorak scrutiny? - probably not

So depends which camp you fall into - "functional and about right" or "need to get out more, made of money and exactly right"

Good point, well made!

But if anyone wants them, they offer finance over 12 months.

I reckon you could externally strip my 998 Cooper and get about £2k from ebay without opening the doors

I agree Mark and some people appear to get crazy prices for items on eBay ... I say appear as I’m not always convinced the sales are genuine :?

If I offer any they’ll start at a much lower price than that that is for sure !!

Only a cynic would suggest that they have that listing just to show their similar listing, under another account, starting at £50 as a bargain!!

Unfortunately, these prices for parts, make nicking an old mini to break it, even more attractive....

It is so amazing, it does look suspicious, as others have said, advertise one for £100, while advertising another on another account for a slightly less inflated £50......seems to be a possible reality...

If I ever got excited enough to purchase 2 NOS LINREAD DOOR LIGHT SWITCHES for that amount I hope I would know it was time to give up on classic Minis as an interest or seek help.....

Not sure if of interest but I followed a useful link on this forum and bought some of these:

https://www.classicminispares.co.nz/sto ... tch-mk-1-2

They are not original but I think similar. Have a couple of spares that I won’t use. Cost me £20 each but open to offers if they are useful to anyone?

Cheers, Mike

I still have half a dozen of the NOS Intermotor switches that I bought on eBay a year or so ago, if anyone needs them. Other than not being stamped ‘Linread’ they seem identical to the OEM part.
