Front and rear suspension bushing?
I have now sent the shell off for paint and so have turned my attention on the sub frames.
The front is the double bolt early type.
I was just wondering if changing from rubber bushes to poly bushes is a good idea, and I had intended to fit hi-lo bits front and back.
Any advice welcomed!

Also, I figured I would get new dampers so I was just going to ring Mini Spares and ask what they recommend.
Is there anything else I should consider at this stage?
As a recap, I am fitting disk brake and super fins.

Re: Front and rear suspension bushing?
Depends on the use, but for most cars I’d stick with rubber or updated rubber. IMHO the poly stuff just isn’t fit for purpose.
For shocks - again what use? KYB gas-ajusts are great for fast road. After that, probably Spax or Protech. Definitely not G-max and probably not Gaz.

It will be mainly road use.
I used to love the roller-skate feel of older mini's.
So I guess my main criteria is that roller skate feel.
Shocks wise I was just wondering what the differences are and whether it is worth the extra cost over stock.

I've got the minispares poly bushes in the rear subframe of my 72 mk3 and not had any problems with.

For a Road Car, I'd suggest Rubber, it has more give than Poly and it's what the car was designed for. It'll be much quieter.

Re: Front and rear suspension bushing?
I used standard non adjustable kyb shocks on my mk1 and on front of my hydro mk2 and they are fine for road use, I did stick with rubber bushes just uprated ones on tie bars. Both handle fine,

Re: Front and rear suspension bushing?
Neither is perfect, depends on your requirements, as far as I know you are supposed to re-grease Poly every few years, there are also some good and very bad sources of supply of Poly.
Lifted image below from this article https://www.suspension.com/blog/rubber- ... -bushings/ which seems quite balanced, personally, if possible i would try to go for rubber (ooh ere misses

If you intend going Lower on the HiLos the the Standard Shocks wont be much use.
Cheers Dicky.
