Out next saturday night on this event, used to be part of the famous 'Motoring news' c/ship. Starts at the Dungeon ghyll hotel in Langdales so first section got to be the famous Wrynose pass and probably hardknott pass. 110 mile on mixed surfaces, looking forward to it. The orangebox was 7th in 1963 and 2nd in 1964 behind winners Geoff Halliwell and Mike Wood in the ex-works 569FMO with a 1293 in it and in front of Tony Fall in the Appleyard's 1275 'S' AAK200B, not bad for a 'bitsa' with a 998 Cooper engine

Although a ' modern' event it has a historic class and there are more Mini's entered than any other car

Six in total, plus a Wolesley Hornet ( Pete

) an Anglia, MGB, MK1 Escorts etc. Looking forward to it, going to be a tall order to improve on my best finish on this event back in 2009 in the smoke grey 1071. Orangebox fixed after last outing so we are going to have a 'real' go on this one
