Hello Guys

I recently bought a second speedwell head,

combustion chambers look standard, but there is some stamping on

I guess one of the numbers is the CR

But MS? I guess it's not Minispares :mrgreen:

MS could be Minispeed, but I believe they are closed now so information could be hard to come by if this refers to them.

Hello

As discussed with Mark, speedwell head where modified by speedwell shop most of the time

Any record of the speedwell employees that used to work on heads?

I don't know this but my guess would be to close up the water jacket. Were these heads machined from solid or cast?

Every speedwell have this plate,

And I far I know it's cast, and porous.. :lol:

The heads were cast in Spain & were all machined in house by Speedwell using their own 3D Pantograph system. I have no idea what the MS stamping is. As the head has not been modified in any appreciable way it is most likely from when the head was reconditioned some time in the past.

The steel plate on the end is access to the water jacket for removing casting sand during the manufacture process.

We gonna save the two heads that I have :)

But the aluminium casting is really poor quality..

Ultraseal in Slough do this, professionally. Works well in my experience.
