I have been helping a friend of over 50 years catalog and inventory his vast array of Mini parts. Amazing how this stuff accumulates. We found two boxes marked 8G718 Baulk Ring Conversion. They are NOS. We are assuming these would Holy Grail type of parts. He can't remember when or where he got them.
My question is which laygear, reverse gear, and first gear would be used with this set? Also which shift hubs would be used?
Hope there is some info on this conversion somewhere.
Many thanks
Chris Miller

Are you in North America? I may be interested in a conversion set if they become available.

Re: Rare gearbox parts
Thanks for the info guys. Spiders post was especially useful. I realize this conversion set would be useful to someone restoring an early 850 and wants to keep the original numbered case and have a better working gear set inside.
Answer to Tagus, Yes, these will be offered for sale in the near future. You are lucky as we are located in North America, specifically in Seattle Washington. Just down the road from you in B.C. If they ever open the borders! Tons of more parts will be offered also.
